Wednesday Hodepodge

Hi friends, its Wednesday and today I'm joining Joyce at From This Side of the Pond to
link up with Wednesday Hodgepodge!  I hope some of you will join the fun!!

1. What's your favorite fall scent? Would we find this in or around your home right now?

Basically any fall scent is my favorite.  I really love cinnamon and apple, but I do like pumpkin scents as well!  My favorite candle is actually this one and its from Walmart!  I usually don't like things that smell like 'waffles' but this one smells amazing, and its around $5 and lasts forever, so I highly recommend!

2. October is Country Music Month...are you a fan of country music? Do you have a favorite country artist? Ever been to Nashville? In terms of lifestyle are you more country mouse or city mouse?

I used to like country music, so I will say I like Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Hank Williams and 90s country lol.  I'm not a fan of today's country, but my daughter is a big fan so I get to hear it whether I like it or not lol.  I haven't been to Nashville, but I'm a HUGE fan of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge so I would probably enjoy Nashville.  I'm a Mom to a real country girl with lots of big belt buckles and cowboy boots, so there's plenty of 'country' in our house lol.  My husband is also a fan of cowboy boots, and its became his signature lol.  Blue eyes and boots.  He's such a hottie :)
I'm def a country mouse!  I've never lived in a city, the closest we have been was the Greensboro area, which isn't really a big city to me at all.  I've never been to a bigger city, but when we have driven through them I haven't enjoyed it as much.  So I would say yes, certainly a country mouse.  I like having  a yard and lots of quite room to roam, I enjoy our one stoplight little town.  I can't imagine I'll ever be a city person, but I'll never say never.

3. How about 'country cooking'? (loosely defined as rich flavors, familiar foods, large portions, often fried, and often associated with the southern region of the US of A)?

Well, I was raised in the mountains of North Carolina lol, so yep, I love country cooking.  Someone asked me last week if I had tried gravy made with milk?  I didn't think there was another way to make gravy lol!  We so LOVE country cooking.  We love biscuits and gravy, chicken and dumplins, fried chicken and porkchops, fried squash and okra.  Oh, and how about some cornbread with buttermilk?  Not made with buttermilk, broken up inside of it... yummmmm lol!  My husband loves collards!  Also, BBQ is a big thing here in North Carolina.  It tastes completely different as you cross the state!

4. What's something that always has a positive impact on your mood?

Just hanging out with my family.  My kids brighten my day just with their presence, they are great kids and they love us and eachother so very much!  My sweet hubby makes me smile, he's the kindest and most thoughtful man I've ever met.  I love windchimes and a good lunch date.  I'm pretty simple to please :)

5. As we say so long to September share a noun, a verb, and an adjective that tells us something about how that month looked for you

That's a tough one!  Beach, because we enjoyed a beach trip with our family from the mountains and it was honestly the perfect beach day!  Busy, because we were super busy all month and didn't get a lot of downtime, and hot, because we had unseasonably high temps for most of the month!

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I'm so glad I restarted my blog and didn't overthink it!  I started my old blog and had so many technical difficulties I totally changed everything and started all over again.  I've already made some new blog friends, found some new blogs and had so many sweet friends stop by and say hi!  I'm really thankful I decided to jump in and get started, its been fun and not awkward at all, so I'm very thankful.  Blogging brings me a lot of joy, and even if I lost a lot of blog posts from years past, I'm thankful to be starting again!
