My very first post...
So to be honest, today I had no idea where to start!
Last week I worked so hard to get my blog up and running again. I was excited to get all of my old posts uploaded and now its not as easy as it used to be! I worked hard to get it to look nice, and then posted a long, honest post about my blog absence, and I was super excited then- I realized that I had messed it up again! My url and domain got really twisted up and once you mess it up just enough you have to chat with godaddy to get it working again :-(. Not only that, but I realized that in adding my old posts the way that I had, it was showing them up one at a time for everyone who followed and overwhelmig their blogs! Double ugh. So I just stopped working on it, deleted it (so the multiple posts would not show up on my followers) and decided I would work on it later. Well, last week we were busy every single night and later never came. So today I sat back down and decided to make a simpler blog from scratch and see where it goes.
So I'm super frustrated, but still want to get back into blogging! So I decided my best bet would be to join my friends for Happy Homemaker Monday and Hello Monday (Sarah and Holly) so I would have a theme to go by, and maybe explain why I disappeared *again* last week. Forgive me!
*** The Weather ***
It's a very rainy day, but the rain isn't anywhere close to what we assumed we would have. There are a couple of storms off the coast that were expected to head this way but they did not! I'm thankful. All of my family in the mountains are still very shaken as this is the one year mark from the devastation or Hurricane Helene so I'm glad that came and went. This week we are in the mid to high 70s which is SO nice. We were in the 90s last week which meant my kiddos did get in an extra pool day before we closed it, but friends, its almost October and I'm ready for cozy season!
*** Right now I am ***
Apparently starting a brand new blog haha! I even gave it a new name and went back to a super simple blogger template. Blast from the past! I'm enjoying it right now though! Simple is good, right? My girl has an ear infection so she's in the living room playing Story of Seasons. Do you ever have any kind of game that the music is just so calming? I LOVE hearing the music in that game, and I quite enjoy playing it myself!
*** Thinking and pondering ***
I'm very frustrated with losing old blog posts but at the same time, I'm thinking this will be a new opportunity to make my blog into something new! So I'm encouraging myself. I have a lot of goals I've put on the backburner and honestly I've just coasted through life for awhile now. I will share a post after this about goals, restarting, and what things I'm changing in my life. :) I'll stay on task now for this post!
*** How I am feeling ***
Exhausted. It's been such a busy few weeks, and coupled with the rainy weather, I'm honestly just wiped out.
*** On the breakfast plate **
*** On the lunch plate ***
I made an egg sandwich for me and my younger son. It was okay, I've been somewhat sick at my stomach for a few days now, just kind of a dull ache. Probably due to the hectic schedule and the many, many times we've eaten out lately. I'm looking forward to soup tonight!
*** On the dinner plate ***
Tomato basil soup with three cheese tortellini. So excited!
*** On the menu ***
Monday: Tomato basil/three cheese tortellini with provologne grilled cheese
*** What I am wearing ***
My new favorite pants, some sweatpants from Target and a go-to tshirt from walmart.
*** On my reading pile ***
I started a book that I saw recommended on Youtube and two chapters in there was a terrible word in it- there are some curse words I choose not to overlook- so that book will be going straight back to the library! I'm picking back up Sisters of Fortune and thankful it is classy and wholesome.
*** On my TV this week ***
The Office. I really need to find something else to watch lol, I've seen all those episodes so many times!
*** Looking around the house ***
The house is clean, but my decor is not yet updated to fall. I just haven't had the time or energy to do it yet! But then again, our pool is still open so I guess its okay that our bathroom is summery/pool theme lol. This week we will have to close down the pool, so maybe I'll find the energy to get out our fall decor. I decorated for Christmas really early last year since my family was coming here for Thanksgiving, and no one ever sees my Christmas decorations. This year I'm planning to leave my fall decor up until after Thanksgiving, so it'll be okay if it takes me a few more days to get it out.
*** To do list ***
Plan! I haven't done any sort of planning whatsoever in weeks and I'm sick of it! I'm ready to get back into the swing of things, and ready to stop living in survival mode.
*** What I am creating ***
LoveI I hI hadasd
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed Sisters of Fortune.I just got out my fall decor a couple of days ago. It hasn't felt much like fall here either and that makes it hard for me to want to decorate.
ReplyDeleteHello H
ReplyDeleteThe curls look great! I haven't done anything to my hair in the longest time. And I disappear from blogging ALL the time! LOL And for a bit I had a website with a blog and moved there and then moved back. I also switched to a simple old blogger template. I may change it - I may not! *shrug* I will have to check out Sisters of Fortune! Is it the Titanic one? I can take one or two mild swear words in a book - but there is no need for the nasty ones or to read them every other word!
ReplyDeleteHi. I hope you start to feel better. May you have a great night.

That's awesome to find a great church home and place to serve. Your trip sounds exciting this weekend. Hope you feel rested and the tomato soup sounds good for the soul. Glad to find your blog, even though you have had some frustrations with the old posts.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back to the blogging world. I took a break for a bit. I needed to figure out my new goals. Hope you feel better soon. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this "intro" post. So nice to have found your blog...and glad you stuck with it even with all the frustrations. The techy part of blogging can really suck the joy out of the posting and other fun parts!! Nice to meet you:)
