I'm loving fall scents! Bath and Body works has amazing fall scented candles and hand soaps. My favorites are Pumpkin apple, pumpkin cupcake, and Book loft. Also, cozy season! We had creamy tomato basil soup with tortellini for the first time Monday night.. its delicious!
Also, my heatless curls!!! My Mom actually bought these for me from a little boutique when she was visiting, and I'm honestly very bad with hair so I didn't have any high expectation.. but WOW! These work sooo good! And they really are okay to sleep in overnight.
Since I got them at a boutique I'm not sure of the exact brand, but these look exactly like them with the snaps on top. Trust me, if I can do this, anyone can lol!
I am also trying to wear matching PJs instead of just shorts and tshirts lol, so I'm also loving these silk PJs. I got the pink ones since they were $11, but I have another pair in my cart that I feel are cuter!
I'm also loving the final few nights of Upward flag football.. this is what my back yard looks like on Friday nights. We live in the parsonage so we are right down from the church, in front of the football field. We helped start this ministry the second year we were there, and its been wonderful!
Anticipating:
So you learn something new everyday, lol. I suppose I thought 'anticipating' and 'looking forward too' were one in the same. The difference according to google is that anticipation focuses on foresight and preparation, whereas looking forward too emphasizes eager pleasure and positive emotions. That makes sense, and I'm glad now I know the difference lol!
So we are anticipating the holidays of course! Last Thanksgiving both of my sisters and their families, along with my Dad and my aunt (his twin sister) came and enjoyed Thanksgiving at my house and it was fantastic! I've reached out and hope to plan a date soon!
Also, the holidays of course! I'm trying to be very intentional this holiday season. The last couple of years we invested heavily in decorations since we have been here for two years and this is a much larger home. This year we won't have as much we need to purchase, so maybe it will be more fun :)
Looking forward too:
We have a lot going on in October, but its all exciting things! We are going to a football game this upcoming Sunday (GO Fins!) We have the NC State Fair in the middle of the month and my girl will be showing for her first time at the state fair. We also have homecoming at church which is always a wonderful event and my kids adopted Grandpa from the coast will be joining us that day. Also, we have a big WMU event the month of October that I'm excited about. Then we round out the month with my girl's 19th birthday on October 28th! We haven't made plans yet, but we will for sure celebrate her! Very busy, but a good busy, and good long periods of rest in between!
Wearing:
I'm honestly the least fashionable person in the world lol. I have been saying lately I need to do better, I'm working on some goals and hopefully if I start my health goals I'll feel better and enjoy getting ready more often. One thing I have been loving is Wild Fable sweatpants from Target. They are sooo comfy! I also love that its jeans season, and I've had a pair of Teva boots for more years than I can remember, and they are still in fabulous shape so I'm excited to wear them again! I do love cozy season!
Cooking:
It's Crock Pot season! I use my croc pot year round honestly, but moreso this time of year than any! I LOVE soups, and last night we had my favorite, Creamy tomato basil with three cheese tortellini! I also love chicken noodle soup.
I’m hoping to spend tomorrow putting up fall decor! It’s tradition in my house that when we put up fall decor we have our first homemade pumpkin pie :) I’m so excited about that!
October is a great month, very busy! My girl also turns 19 on the 28th! So for us it’s a month of celebration! We don’t celebrate Halloween, so that’s officially the day we watch our first Christmas movie and have a Christmas theme treat lol. I also won’t allow Christmas music to be played until then lol- I don’t wanna be sick of it by December!
I can’t wait to catch up with everyone! Thanks Jenn for hosting!
Hooray for crock pot season! I do enjoy my crock pot:) I was a bit confused with the anticipating/looking forward to prompts as well. Kudos to you for taking the time to try and find the difference. I hope you enjoy all the good things you have on the calendar...as well as special times with family. And happy birthday wishes to your daughter!!
ReplyDeleteI have been searching for some sweatpants when I realized I don't have any. I have zero comfy fall pants and will be checking out Target's website. Thanks for the suggestion. We've been using our crock pot more too and I love it. I always forget how wonderful it makes the house smell all day.
